It is time to make a difference.

At maximeyes we believe in finding solutions to energy problems. We also believe that business value and social impact can go hand in hand and we are passionate and committed to using our business as a force for good. With this in mind, we launched the Fuel the Change initiative to help low-income families out of fuel poverty. Our aim is to help lift 1,000 homes out of fuel poverty by 2020 and we need your help to make this happen.

You Help Us Save Lives. We’ll Help Your Business Thrive

Last year more than 3,000 people died unnecessarily from conditions related to fuel poverty, of which the majority were over 65. In 2016 more than 20% of UK household stated that they were spending more than 10% of their income on gas and electricity bills meaning they are officially classed as being in fuel poverty. Almost 1 in 3 households in London and Wales. Rising energy costs and a general increase in the cost of living means that many households are having to make the decision to either heat or eat. You can help us make a difference. For every 10GWh of energy supplied through the Fuel the Changes initiative, Maximeyes will help to lift one UK household out of fuel poverty.

THE ANSWER?

IT IS QUITE CLEAR THAT CREATING MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT PROPERTIES IS A MUCH MORE COST EFFECTIVE AND LONG TERM SOLUTION TO FUEL POVERTY THAN TRYING TO REGULATE ENERGY COMPANIES TO DROP PRICES.

How Does it Work

It is clear that creating more energy efficient properties is a more effective solution, than trying to regulate energy companies to reduce their prices. We are helping households by implementing measures to help them make their home more energy efficient and to reduce their dependency on expensive electricity from the grid. Recently we partnered with Severn Vale Housing and Puredrive Energy, in a first of its kind initiative to provide homes with free solar panels and battery storage.

“ We believe that businesses must have a social purpose, as such our ‘Fuel The Change’ initiative aims to help lift 1000 homes out of fuel poverty by 2020. Working with Puredrive Energy and Severn Vale Housing on this scheme is making this ambition a reality. By combining renewable energy and battery storage into community schemes, we are proud to be leading the way towards the next generation of energy services that will become a part of our future. ”Shamir Jiwa | CEO | Maximeyes Group

What is Fuel Poverty?

Fuel poverty is a term for households that cannot meet their basic energy requirements. The key factors that can contribute to fuel poverty are:

Energy Efficiency

The energy efficiency of the property (and therefore, the energy required to heat and power the home)

The Cost of Energy

With domestic energy costs rising significantly the number of households being pushed into fuel poverty is increasing

Low Household Income

The median income of a household in fuel poverty is £10,325; more than half of the UK median household income

Number of households in fuel poverty is rising

The number of households experiencing fuel poverty is rising at the moment for several reasons:
The cost of energy keeps increasing, which means we need to spend more of our income on paying these bills
Many of us live in draughty homes, from which lots of heat escapes, and rely on heating systems that are old and inefficient. And because we do not have much money to spare, it is difficult to make our homes more energy efficient, which would reduce our bills
The general cost of living is rising and this is also putting pressure on our finances so we have less money to go around.
